New Member Assistance Program

Effective April 1, 2018 – All Active Members, Retirees and Dependents

Effective April 1, 2018, the Welfare Fund Board of Trustees have partnered with a new Member Assistance Program (MAP) vendor, Employee Resource Systems, Inc. (ERS). The MAP offered by ERS is available to all members, retirees, and dependents. The Trustees feel strongly about providing the best services possible to our members and their families which is why they decided to partner with ERS.

Why ERS?

  • The counselors at ERS are Masters level licensed mental health professionals
  • The clinicians have extensive experience helping people with their issues
  • ERS counselors will work with you or your family members, either over the phone or in person when possible, to identify and evaluate your concerns.
  • Through the MAP, members and their families can receive up to five FREE counseling sessions per incident; there is no cost to you for these initial five sessions.
  • If the ERS counselor believes an issue cannot be addressed in five sessions or if a more intensive level of care is required, you or your dependent will be referred to an in network licensed clinician to get the services you need to treat your problem. The cost of additional services to treat your problem, beyond the initial MAP sessions, will be adjudicated based on your medical plan.
    • For additional managed mental health and substance abuse services, you will now contact the current Case Manager, MCM Solutions (MCM). The certification process remains the same through MCM. You can submit a case by calling MCM at (855) 298-0493 or visit www.medicalcost.com.

What types of support services does the MAP offer?

All of us experience problems in our lives at one time or another. Most of the time, we manage perfectly well on our own; however, occasionally we may need additional help.  Dealing with home and/or work place challenges can disrupt our lives as well as the lives of our family members. Knowing where to turn when these problems arise can be difficult. For that reason, MOE members (including retirees) and their immediate family members now have access to counseling, support services and resources through the MAP for:

  •  Drug / alcohol abuse
  •  Depression
  •  Grief / loss
  •  Parenting support
  •  Stress – Read more
  •  Anxiety – Read more
  •  Family / relationship
  •  Legal / financial concerns
  •  Child / elder care

What additional programs are offered through ERS?

The Work-Life Services program offers 24-hour internet access to Work-Life Consultants for referrals as well as a comprehensive collection of web-based informational tools, assessments, calculators, locators, articles and other resources. Telephone based Financial Assist, Legal Consultation and ID Theft Recovery are also included.
