Newly Eligible Members of the Marketplace

NOTE:  1st Year Apprentices, it is mandatory that you attend an Open Enrollment Event

Open Enrollment is from mid-January – February 28, 2021

If you are a member of the MOE Health Plan Marketplace for hourly members and you first became eligible on or after March 1, 2020, its important to understand how you can optimize your benefits under this Plan. You will remain under the Bronze PPO Plan until March 31, 2021 so please take advantage of the FREE services that are available as follows:

FREE SERVICES under the Marketplace Bronze PPO Plan

  • ACA preventive services are covered at 100% if utilizing BCBS in-network providers
  • Utilize the Operators’ Health Center located on the Countryside Campus (708) 485-2273 or in Merrillville IN (219) 525-1150.
    • DOT Physicals are now available; however, you must call to make an appointment. These appointments are longer in duration; therefore, walk-in appointments may not be accommodated.  If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, PLEASE CALL AND CANCEL.
  • Visit CVS/Target retail store MinuteClinics – most services are free; however, there are some cash-pay services so please inquire
  • ATI Physical Therapy facilities will provide free physical therapy if confirmed as medically necessary
  • ERS (Member Assistance Program) provides up to five free counseling sessions per episode
  • Family Supplemental Benefit (FSB) is $2,000
    • You can receive reimbursement for vision services under your FSB. Be sure to use the EyeMed Advantage Network to extend your FSB dollars. This network provides deeper discounts on vision ware.
    • You can receive reimbursement under your FSB for dental services as this plan does not include dental coverage.

Be sure to check your hours on My150 to ensure your employer is reporting your hours/contributions timely and also keep an eye on your Credit Bank. By next year’s open enrollment (January – February 2021), you will have increased your Credit Bank and will have the opportunity to select a different health plan option that best fits your family’s needs.

Apprentice Members New to Local 150

For those members that have not yet been inducted into the Union and have not been dispatched, the Fund Office staff was traveling down to ASIP to provide important information to these new members regarding their fringe benefits.  Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, these informational sessions have been suspended. These sessions focus on what new members need to do at different stages of their career; but the common goal is for members to take an active role in understanding their fringe benefits and to STAY INFORMED.  Once you are eligible for benefits under the health & welfare plan, take advantage of the FREE SERVICES as noted above.
